Is Luxy Hair Really That Luxurious?
I have tried almost every brand of clip in hair extensions in the world – at least it seems like it! I’ve already written several reviews about my experience with almost all types of hair extensions, including the good, the bad, the worst and the ugly.
I placed my order for the medium to thicker hair (160-gram set) on the Luxy Hair website, and they delivered the package within 72 hours. The quick delivery really surprised me. I was attracted to Luxy Hair because I read the story of how Mimi and Leyla founded the business after Lilly was disappointed with the quality of existing hair extensions on the market. Their story really motivated me to give their product a shot. They make it extremely easy to find the exact hair you want on their website by choosing from the options below:
So, the package finally arrived, and I was so excited to wear the beautiful, clip in hair extension. I took the extension out of the package, and it was exactly the one I had ordered. Remember, most hair extension sellers use morphed or stolen pictures of beautiful hair extensions on their website, but send you ugly, poor quality products in the package. I’ve had a similar experience with a number of brands, but Luxy Hair literally delighted me. I respect this brand for being so honest.
I have been using hair extensions and weaves for almost a decade now, and on the basis of my personal experience, I have developed a personal yardstick to evaluate the performance of hair extensions. I examine them for appearance, authenticity, tangling, shedding, life expectancy, contact with water, and breakage among a range of other factors.
My experience with Luxy Hair for almost all of the performance factors was great. The brand not only surpassed my expectations but also wow’ed my friends when I showed them. The overall quality of the hair was great.
Appearance and Authenticity
Luxy Hair extensions are silky, thick, lustrous, beautiful and undetectable. The clip-in hair extensions are 20 inches in length and come in a full headset. The refined and glossy locks look completely natural, thanks to the use of 100 percent Remy human hair. Because I had bought medium to thicker hair, it looked great for the style I was going for, and I loved it. Since they use virgin hair in the extensions, I was able to style it they way I liked.
Remember, with Luxy Hair extensions, you’re in charge of your hairstyle. You can style them in chic, modern and trendy ways. They will always look amazing and elegant, and the hair will easily blend with your natural hair. The company uses the highest grade of human hair in its products. The cuticles always stay unbroken and the strands are unidirectional, meaning that you will get a completely natural appearance. Even better, each hair extension is made of single donor hair. Actually, Luxy lists many reasons why their extensions are superior to others on the market on their website here. Not only that, the give you 13+ hair tones to choose from which you can select from below:
The brand owners claim that they don’t process their hair. To put their claim to the test, I dyed the hair extension, and they easily caught color. Remember, hair extensions that are chemically treated will not easily catch color. Most brands use poor quality hair in their products and then chemically treat them to make them shiny.
It is important to mention here that chemically processed hair extensions are not good for your scalp either. They have the tendency to irritate you with itchiness, and they are easily detectable. Well, my experience with Luxy Hair was pleasant because it was proven that the brand does not chemically process its products. They’re already using original human hair in their extensions, and there’s no need for chemical treatment.
Tangling and Life Expectancy
One of the factors that I use to examine the quality of hair extensions is tangling. If a hair extension is of poor quality, or if it is made of fibers instead of human hair, it will start tangling within a few days. Tangling can be irksome. Just imagine you are getting ready to attend an important event and your hair gets tangled at the eleventh hour. You spend hours trying to disentangle them, but to no avail. This can be real frustrating.
They use 100 percent Remy human hair in their products, and there is absolutely no chance of tangling. You can wash, comb, brush and style your hair with confidence, just like you do with your natural hair.
And when it comes to the life expectancy, I wore Luxy Hair it for more than a year, and it is still in its original shape, and I absolutely love it. If you take good care of your Luxy Hair extension, it will last for more than 18 months. They provide real value for the trust and money you invest in the brand.
Shedding can occur even with the best hair extension brands. Poor quality hair extensions have the tendency to start shedding right out of the box. However, Luxy Hair scores excellent on this performance yardstick too. For the first three months I didn’t see any shedding, but from month four onwards, it would intermittently shed a few strands, but that wasn’t a big deal because as I’ve said, even the best hair extensions shed hair. If I am told to compare shedding in Luxy Hair with the premium brands I’ve used, I would have top say Luxy Hair is in my top 10 list.
If you are a swimming fanatic like me, the good news is that you can swim with Luxy Hair with confidence. Unlike other brands that become sticky and flat upon contact with water, Luxy Hair remained intact and appeared natural and undetectable even when I hit the swimming pool. You can swim for as long as you want with Luxy Hair extension because the reliable clips will hold your hair in place.
Luxy Hair extensions have been reasonably priced. No doubt, the value the brand provides is more than the price they charge. They are relatively affordable and will surpass your expectations when it comes to quality and performance. I bought the 160-gram set at $159. You also have the option to buy the 120-gram set at $129 or the 220-gram set at $209.
Luxy Hair is definitely top quality hair extensions on the market in the clip in the category. You can dye, heat, style, wash and curl the hair just as you do with your natural hair. The good news is that Luxy Hair has a dedicated YouTube channel where they demonstrate how to wash, wear and style your hair extension. They also provide you tips on how to care for you hair extension and elongate its life.
